Learn to Relax

If you’re feeling stress, your body reacts with a fight or flight response. Your muscles tense, and your heart rate and blood pressure increases. Without a clear resolution, these physiological changes can continue even after the source of stress is gone.

This is where massage comes in. It provides immediate relief and interrupts the fight or flight response so that your body and mind calms down. This can help you release muscle tension and improve your sleep.

Massage can help you learn to relax. After experiencing relaxation in massage, you can recreate that experience in your daily life when you need it.

Massage also lets you know when your body is feeling stress. In daily life, you’ll recognize the onset of that little ache in your neck as a warning sign. You can then take actions to calm down and regain control.
