Massage and Arthritis

Massage can be a powerful help in managing pain from either osteo or rheumatoid arthritis. Endorphins, your body’s natural pain killers, can be released by massage and give your relief from pain.

Around any painful area, such as an arthritic joint, your muscles will tighten. Massage on these muscles can make them feel better and help reduce the pain cycle.

Swedish massage can help to clear muscles of irritating and painful products of arthritis and bring better nutrition to the joints and muscles. Excess fluid, which causes swelling, can often be pushed into the circulatory system where it is eliminated.

Exercise can slow the degenerative process of arthritis. Massage can make it less painful to stretch and exercise.
